Beat Writer Mike Reiss reported on June 16th, 2009 that Patriots rookie WR Brandon Tate (Knee) would likely begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Tate was viewed as a potential first round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft before his devastating knee injury against Norte Dame last October. He tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee, and his rehab may very well put him behind schedule in joining the Patriots 53 man roster to start the season.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Tate’s progress and monitor him on the waiver wire in Redraft leagues. Make sure to spend a mid round rookie selection in your dynasty draft and give him a redshirt year on your bench, IR, or taxi squad. You definitely want to own any part of this dynamic Patriots offense in 2009 and beyond.
