Dez Bryant to the Cowboys

Georgia v Oklahoma State

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a bold move to trade up three spots and select wide receiver Dez Bryant at the 24th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.  Bryant slid down the draft board because of character and maturity concerns.

With those concerns aside, Dez Bryant is the most polished wide receiver in this draft class and will make an instant impact for the Cowboys.  Bryant reminds us of a younger Terrell Owens, which is fitting because Owens was last fantasy relevant as a member of the Cowboys.

The writing is on the wall for Roy Williams to have a diminished role in the Cowboys offense.  Miles Austin will remain the top wide receiver target for quarterback Tony Romo.  Bryant could enter the starting lineup as a rookie in place of Williams.

Bryant remains the top player in our dynasty rookie rankings after the conclusion of the first round.  Dez Bryant and Miles Austin will be the next great wide receiver tandem in the NFL.
