Jahvid Best to the Lions

2010 NFL Draft Round 1

After selecting Ndamukong Suh 2nd overall, the Lions pulled off a trade with the Vikings to draft running back Jahvid Best at the end of first round.  The Lions send the 34th overall pick, a seventh rounder and swapped fourth rounders with the Vikings to select Best.

Jahvid Best is arguably one of best playmakers available in the entire 2010 NFL Draft.  Best may struggle to become a bell cow running back in the NFL, however, he will be a threat to score any time he touches the football.  Best was the fastest running back at the scouting combine with a 4.35 forty-yard dash.

There could be an opportunity for Best to contribute as a rookie with Kevin Smith coming off a torn ACL.  The Detroit offensive is getting better in a hurry with a franchise quarterback at the helm in Matthew Stafford and weapons including Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew, Nate Burleson, and Jahvid Best.

Best will compete with Ryan Mathews of the Chargers for top rookie honors in 2010.  Jahvid Best is now a lock for the top-4 of your dynasty rookie draft.
