Jermaine Gresham to the Bengals

FedEx BCS National Championship Game - Oklahoma v Florida

The Cincinnati Bengals made tight end Jermaine Gresham the 21st overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Gresham was our top tight end prospect prior to the start of the draft, and he fills a major need for the Bengals.  They used a third-round selection last season on Chase Coffman.  Coffman was injured for all of 2009 and struggled with blocking.

Gresham has the ability to become a threat in the passing game and a devastating run-blocker.  His game reminds us of Brandon Pettigrew; however, Gresham may be a more dynamic offensive weapon if healthy.

Gresham did not play for the Sooners in 2009 after having surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.

Historically, the Bengals have not featured a tight end in their offense and it could limit the fantasy football impact Gresham will have early in his career.
