Extra Points – June 5, 2010

It has been a busy week in the NFL and fantasy football owners are starting to break out of their offseason slumber.

We have lots of great content to share with you this week, so read on for more:

In case you missed it, earlier this week I was interviewed by Ryan over at Fantasy Football Challenge.  It was a lot of fun answering his questions, and allowed me to reflect on the first year of RookieBlitz.com.

Aaron Rudnicki, from our friends over at footballguys.com, is the brains behind their latest endeavor, Today in Fantasy, a new website that can only be described as “Google for fantasy information”.  Certainly give it a look; the beta version already looks great.

New York Jets v New England Patriots

As a Patriots fan, I was ecstatic to see one of my favorite players in the NFL get back on the practice field this week.  Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com (formerly of the Boston Globe) has a great update on the progress of Wes Welker.

My Fantasy DC Blitz co-host Mike Clay has already updated his projections for Wes Welker.  Mike also just wrapped up his Looking Ahead series with the AFC South teams: Jaguars, Colts, Titans, and Texans.

Matt Schauf of RapidDraft also broke down the Jaguars this week, as well as the Cardinals, in his Team Breakdown feature.  Be on the lookout for more information soon from the RapidDraft folks on the launch of their 2010 fantasy game.

Ryan Sitzmann from the IDP Guru just updated his dynasty linebacker rankings for 2010.  We have to give him some props for putting rookie linebacker Rolando McClain in his top-10.

Chet Gresham from Razzball finds a few faults with the latest top-200 overall rankings from NFL.com.

Extra Points – May 29, 2010

Also while you are checking out DLF’s great site, be sure to read Ken Kelly’s analysis on their new Dynasty Experts League Draft.  Jeff Haverlack and Ken Kelly helped assemble an all-star cast of industry experts, so that will be a league to follow closely.

Matt Schauf of Rapid Draft begins his team-by-team fantasy breakdowns starting with the St. Louis Rams.

Chet Gresham of Razzball highlights Arian Foster, Antonio Gates, Lendale White, and Michael Vick in his latest Daily Notes.

Daniel Smith of Fantasy Depth Chart just posted his commentary on the offseason activity of the AFC South teams.

George Kurtz of FF Report has released his initial Team Power Rankings for the 2010 season.  Some teams he has pegged for an increase in wins include the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders.

Ken Kelly of Dynasty League Football has an interesting take on Tim Tebow vs. Colt McCoy for your rookie drafts.

Extra Points – FF Links

In our new weekly feature, we will give you all the latest fantasy football news and articles from our favorite sources on the Internet.

And best of all, it is 100% free!

Take a look around at the following links:

Mike Clay of Fantasy Depth Chart began a new feature this week: Looking Ahead.  Up first are the Arizona Cardinals and the Detroit Lions.  If you haven’t check out Mike’s 2010 Projections yet, what are you waiting for?

New Razzball contributor Lawrence Marino has been busy lately with a look at his Top-10 IDP Rookie Linebackers. Lawrence also has a great article about Texans linebacker Brian Cushing after he was suspended for the first four games of the 2010 NFL season.

One of the best IDP minds in the fantasy football community, Matt Schauf of Rapid Draft shares his take on the defensive players taken in the second round.  He thinks Taylor Mays will be a strong IDP prospect and I may have to agree with him.

I don’t normally like the rookie coverage on the bigger sites (one of the reasons I started Rookie Blitz), but Chris Wesseling of Rotoworld always does an awesome job.  He has updated his Dynasty Rookie Ranks with a look at all the offensive skill players available in your rookie drafts.
